Great Mother's Day Present

I have been designing alot of bracelet kits in preparation for the Craft Show at the end of April.  This is one of our lastest ones and has been getting a lot of attention in our shop.  If you are stuck for something to get your Mum or Grandmother here is a great idea!!

It is a memory bracelet - you make the bracelet up and then add your own photos, what a wonderful and thoughtful present to give your Mum.

Ella Clutch Handbag Pattern Winner!!

Thank you to everyone who posted and wished me a Happy Birthday - but I will have to confess that I had a shocking day - the night before I was starting to come out with a really bad eczema rash on my face, when I woke up in the morning it was out of control and I couldn't even see out of one eye - so I cried!!.

My 2 year old said "Mummy why you crying"
I said "because my face is sore"
Ella "cream, cream, mummy makes it better"
me " I haven't got any to help it"
Ella "yes yes in your handbag"
then she got off the bed and went to my bag and got out my everyday moisturiser and brought it back.
Ella "here mummy this helps"

So then I cried again, as I realised that she understood how I felt.  But I went to the doctor and Jim had to take a day off from his work to work at the shop, as I would of scared all the customers away - I look like the elephant woman.  With tablets and creams it has started to go down, but next week I have to go back and they need to take a tissue sample from my arm to try and work out what is happening to me.  My God I am falling apart at 37!.

Anyway on to a happier a note - The winner of the handbag pattern is Jeannie - I will send your pattern out asap.

I have to show you another photo of my Frangapani tree starting to flower - it is really weird as it is supposed to flower around November - December the start of Summer, but it is only starting to flower now, one week before Autumn - the weather here has been really strange - today is the hottest day we have had and Summer is nearly over - if you are reading from Queensland you will know what I am on about - I just love Frangapani trees - here at our house it is called a Fairy tree - we tell Ella that the fairies live in it at night when they sleep.

Whoo Hoo!! - Home Alone

I am home alone today - my good friend Kerri is looking after the shop, Jim is at work, and Ella is at home Day Care - This is my first full day off by myself for ages.  So what to do - Well I can't seem to settle today - I feel like I have to accomplish 1000 things while I am alone.  Do I do some designing?, House work (definitely not!!). I was thinking of doing some lamp work - but maybe I'll do that tonight.  I have to go out later and do the banking for the shop, but for now I am going to make another sample for the craft show coming up in May.

I am going to have a go a Melly & me - Hopscotch Handbag Pattern - looks fun and challenging for my day off. I am determined to not buy any fabric until I have made a dent in my pile.  So I have picked out a few, not really sure whether a couple of them should be in there but what the heck - I will post it when finished.

 

 

I thought I would show you our little house that I am in the comfort of today ( the house was built around 1895 and was the original farm house in our area) - I better get off the computer before my day is gone.

Another Pattern - Ella Clutch

Well I finished another pattern tonight - I still need to finish off the instructions, but I thought if I posted it on my blog - then I would definitely have to make an effort to finish it off tomorrow. I named it after my little girl Ella Cate. I think this pattern is a real - " going with the girls for coffee type of bag".  The handles are shorter and it features a magnetic clasp and the bag has a base.  It has room for the mobile, wallet, a few pieces of makeup - all you need for a little time out with the girls - no nappies in this one.

The pattern should be ready in a couple of days - if you would like to preorder it please email me - it will be $14.95. 

But if you leave a comment - I will give away one pattern to a lucky customer - I will draw it on my Birthday 22nd Feb - that way I get a present and so do you!!

Ella is already preparing for her date with the girls at the coffee shop!!

Making Samples

While I am totally on a blog roll I thought I would show you a sample that I have made up from the pattern Melly & me - Sunshine - you can find the pattern available at my store. 

I have booked in to do the Brisbane Stitches and Craft Show from the 30 April to the 4 May and need to get some samples done before the show.    Sew Sew Sew - I must admit it has been fun - a bit of a change from lampwork beading.

Oriental Bloom - Handbag Pattern

I've been playing around for a while with patterns and designs for my own for handbags and stitcheries.  It is something that I just don't get enough time to do, but I made a effort over the weekend to get my first one together, photographed, instructions written, packing worked out - and it is now finished!!

I have such a stash of fabric at home to choose from (my husband has been wondering if it would ever be used), but I found the perfect one for this simple bag pattern.
