I saw a stall holder with revamped shabby chic products on their stand recently - they had a window turned into a framed coat holder
I had a few sash windows lying under my house from a recent renovation. I have started to turn them into recycled works of art.
I have 5 more windows of vary sizes - some of them I am going to put photos in and one of them is going to have a cork board, as the glass is broken.
The project didn't take long to do - but I did have to go buy a decent staple gun to attach the fabric - as the timber in these windows is well over 100 years old and very hard.
I have some really cool retro fabric to put in the others - I was a bit on the conservative side with the first one. The Cath Kidson fabric is a bit too prissy for me - I have sort of gone past the shabby chic style, but It was great for the first go - I can always change the fabric when I feel like it!
The porcelain knob is original which is a fantastic feature on the window frame
